As part of Earth Raise 2026’s Big Give, we’re raising funds to build support for policies tackling the growing impacts of oversized SUVs. 👇 donate.biggive.org/campaign/… Donations support workshops, policy briefings, public materials, and on‑street polling to understand and communicate public appetite for traffic‑reduction measures focused on larger vehicles.

6 Questions for '26 transform.scot/2026/01/12/6-… 1. Will we see even one mile of new bus lane laid down during 2026? 2. Will we see a national campaign put in place to deliver road traffic reduction? 3. Will we see any movement on traffic demand management anywhere in Scotland?

4. Will any consideration be given to the economic viability of public transport services? 5. Will the new Scottish administration give sufficient attention to transport? 6. Will the new Scottish Parliament do a better job of scrutinising transport?

Bus Partnership Fund reported as having been "concluded" by @transcotland according to @routeoneteam So concluded only c. £473m short of the £500m originally committed. We wait to see how the replacement £10m Bus Infrastructure Fund will work. route-one.net/news/bus-infra…

So the £500m Bus Partnership Fund has indeed been cancelled, not "paused", as @transcotland claimed earlier this year. But it has been replaced by a £10m 'Bus Infrastructure Fund'. gov.scot/binaries/content/do… Unclear whether new fund comes at expense of active travel investment.

Our response to #ScottishBudget: transform.scot/2024/12/04/dr… “It’s deeply disappointing that no funds were found for reinstating the Bus Partnership Fund. Installing #BusPriority on the roads is a cheap & quick way to incentivise people to switch from cars to public transport."

Our response to today's #A96 announcement 👇 transform.scot/2024/11/28/pu… Is full dualling the most effective way to reduce crashes & accidents? “At £5,000 million, the cost of the full dualling is equal to 200 years of @scotgov's budget for all road safety interventions nationwide."
Fiona Hyslop: “The Scottish Government currently favours fully dualling the A96 between Inverness and Aberdeen. “The A96 corridor review evidence suggests that there may be a different approach to provide alternative solutions at a more cost effective, affordable budget.”

The @TransformScot #IdeasForInvestment report contains my article on how in Iceland action is being taken now to implement road pricing for EVs. transform.scot/2024/11/27/fa… It's now almost 4 years since @scotgov committed to road traffic reduction. We're long overdue for action.

It would appear that @UKLabour is only interested in 'working people' who drive & not those who use public transport. Deeply disappointing to see UK Labour continue with Tory policies that have made driving cheaper compared to public transport.

The government will protect working people and those in local communities by freezing fuel duty next year. This is a tax cut worth £3bn and will save motorists almost £60 a year.

Disappointing to see Edinburgh decide to drop plans for #WorkplaceParkingLevy. @Edinburgh_CC has spent decades talking a good game about reducing car use -- yet continues to take precisely no action as a result. So what exactly is the plan to cut car traffic by 30% by 2030?
#Edinwebcast .. #WorkplaceParkingLevy 🙄Result: further #WPL progress appears to be postponed indefinitely Con amendt to scrap WPL defeated SNP Green to continue WPL, defeated Lab LibDem, which is effectively to postpone indefinitely, succeeds

It is dishonest for @scotgov to blame Westminster for the failure to meet the #climate targets that itself set. The Scottish Government needs to be judged on where it is spending its money, not on vapid policy commitments. Our full comment at transform.scot/2024/04/18/cl…
