The Texas Tech University System is proud to welcome Rachel McLelland of Tijeras, New Mexico, as the next student regent on the Board of Regents, following her appointment by @GregAbbott_TX . McLelland, a student at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, is pursuing her Doctor of Medicine degree. She earned a Bachelor of Science in anthropology and general studies from Texas Tech University in 2018, with minors in chemistry, biology and health professions. A dedicated leader and servant, McLelland has been actively involved in mentoring students, volunteering in the Lubbock community and serving in the United States Air Force Reserve.
