Ever since the NBA Finals, people have been talking about Timberwolves stars leaving Minnesota and winning the title elsewhere. 🐺 Kevin Garnett left and won in Boston 🐺 Kevin Love left and won in Cleveland 🐺 Andrew Wiggins left and won in Golden State 🐺 Karl-Anthony Towns left and won in New York But these events also happened in other major sports. MLB Hall-of-Famer and former Minnesota Twin David Ortiz, eerily similar to KG, left for the Boston Red Sox. He won a World Series there. Just recently, Sam Darnold left the Minnesota Vikings for the Seattle Seahawks. He just won a Super Bowl for that city. It could just be a coincidence, But it's scary to think that whenever a star leaves Minnesota, Doesn't matter which sport it is, They win an NBA title just a few years, even months after.

Back in 2018, the Minnesota Timberwolves were the ultimate soap opera of the NBA. We all remember the infamous practice. Jimmy Butler rolling up with the third-stringers, screaming "You can't win without me!" and completely terrorizing Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins before doing an interview about it an hour later. Fast forward to today, and the basketball gods decided to pull the ultimate plot twist. Since that legendary blowup, Andrew Wiggins went to Golden State and locked down an NBA championship in 2022 with the Warriors. Jeff Teague casually secured his ring with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021 before riding off into the sunset of podcast royalty. Even KAT, the guy Jimmy slammed the hardest for not being a winner, finally broke through and got his ring with the Knicks. Meanwhile, the man who started it all, the ultimate competitor who left because he wanted to win more than anyone else on that roster? Jimmy Butler is still ringless. We gotta keep it real and give credit where credit is due though. Jimmy's resume isn't empty because of a lack of effort. He dragged the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals twice through sheer, unadulterated willpower and historic playoff performances. But he left empty-handed both times. He was supposed to be the one who proved everyone wrong, yet the exact guys he called out are the ones walking around with championship jewelry. You can't make this stuff up. The Wolves drama scattered them across the league, only for the "soft" guys to finish the story first. NBA history really is a circle, and right now, Jimmy is the only one left standing outside the circle looking in.

Has anyone been roasted more in the last 6 years than Karl-Anthony Towns? Those years were defined by defensive lowlights, zesty highlights and the internet doing what the internet does. But fans don't remember what KAT can't forget. It was also 6 years ago when KAT lost his mother. Everything changed for him after that. He went from missing the playoffs in 5 of his first 6 seasons to making it 5 years in a row. Fans didn't think KAT was a winning player, but the Knicks saw a champion. And finally, after everything that has been said about him, KAT can lift his first NBA Championship trophy up to the sky for his mom to see from above 🙏

After winning a championship, KAT made sure to thank his former teammates. Including Anthony Edwards. "Those guys made me better, made me a better leader, a better player." New York helped him win a ring. Minnesota helped make him the player who could win one.

The Timberwolves have seen this story before…🔄 Kevin Garnett became the franchise's first true superstar, won MVP, and carried Minnesota to the Western Conference Finals. He was then traded to the Celtics in 2007 and raised the Larry O'Brien Trophy that very same season. Kevin Love put up All-NBA numbers in Minnesota and became one of the league's premier power forwards. He was dealt to the Cavs in 2014 and helped deliver a championship to the city two years later. Andrew Wiggins arrived as the centerpiece of the Love trade, won Rookie of the Year, and posted multiple 20-point scoring seasons. After being traded to the Warriors, he became a key part of a title run in 2022. Now Karl-Anthony Towns has added his name to the list. Multiple All-Star appearances, years as the face of the franchise, then a trade in 2024. Two seasons later, he's an NBA champion with New York. Garnett. Love. Wiggins. Towns. Four Timberwolves stars. Four championships after leaving Minnesota 👀 And then there's Anthony Edwards. Already established as the face of basketball in the Twin Cities. Already carrying the weight of the franchise's future. The question isn't whether he's good enough to win a championship. It's whether he'll be the first Timberwolves superstar to do it without leaving 🐜

The Timberwolves are reportedly no longer coming hard for Giannis Antetokounmpo, per Kurt Helin. Minnesota may be choosing to stick with its current core rather than mortgage the future for a blockbuster trade. Did the Wolves make the right call?
