A special thank you to the Lubbock and Panhandle TRA chapters for hosting our final two stops, and for the incredibly gracious welcome we received! And a tremendous thank you to all chapters who hosted us. 🧵
As we begin preparing for next year’s 90th Texas Legislative Session, we want to build on what we heard across the state and ensure operators continue to have a seat at the table. 🧵
Whether we met you on the Tour or not, we want to know what challenges you face today and what changes would make it easier to operate and grow your business in TX.

.@TXRestaurants, a lead partner in the "Seat the Table" campaign, released its 2026 first-quarter report revealing the mounting pressure on the state’s hospitality industry. As food and fuel costs climb, restaurant operators are struggling to stay afloat while facing a shrinking pool of available workers.
"Immigration is difficult and has had an impact on the restaurant industry [and] the farming industry, which again, then raises prices along the way," says TRA Chief Marketing Officer Tony Abroscato. He notes that while food costs have surged 35% since the pandemic, a lack of available labor is creating a secondary crisis that makes those costs even harder to manage.

Thank you to @UTexasMcCombs MBA capstone team! We partnered with them to explore how we can better reach and serve operators across Texas–and keep showing up for YOU.

The #SeatTheTable coalition is featured in @nytimes today: " @TXRestaurants and business leaders across the country have started a coalition, called Seat the Table, demanding that Congress and the White House create work permits for “long-term, law-abiding immigrants playing critical roles from farms to restaurants.”" @ABICaction is proud to be part of this coalition along with @beardfoundation@latinoresassoc and many more.
“I think the vast majority of Americans recognize that there is a large group of undocumented immigrants who have been literally keeping food on our tables,” said Kelsey Erickson Streufert, chief public affairs officer for TXRestaurants. “And if we remove those people, it is going to hurt everyone in terms of higher prices.”
