Tag-A-Giant (TAG) supports research on Atlantic and Pacific bluefin tuna to chart the course for innovative and effective policy and conservation initiatives.
The recovered tag popped up near Cape Verde in November 2012 and was found on a beach EIGHT years later in the Bahamas allowing us to download the archived time-series data.

Happy Sharktober 🦈 The team is a week in to the start of the white shark season in California. So far we have deployed nine tags and collected two biopsy samples. We also collect fin IDs such as this one that allow us to uniquely identify individuals (just like a fingerprint)!
Great detection by a BRUV deployment! Bluefin tuna swimming close to the mighty tuna trap of #Favignana. Once, many of these fish would have been intercepted by the historic fishery. #wsc21@AmpEgadi
Tag a giant joins our Spanish great Tuna Race team and voila. Tagging in the Med commences. Thanks to Pablo Cermeno and Robbie Schallert and Club sport fishers in Spain. Twenty five years of tagging giants continues. Despite all the challenges.
