Tom Brady shares what he tells every college athlete he meets and it's not what they expect.
"I hope this experience is hard for you. I hope it's not easy."
"I hope today in this game you're losing in the 4th quarter and you look at each other in the eye and try to figure out solutions to how you're gonna win the game."
"That's how you're gonna find out what you're made of."
You find out who you are when you are challenged. Expect adversity. Expect tough moments.
"Life is hard. The challenges of life are hard."
"This program is hard. It's built on toughness. It's built on resilience. And that's what I wanna see from this team."
You can't wish for easy or hope for easy.
Adversity is a gift if you let it be.

Been reflecting lately on my first year as a college pitching coach.
Still have a lot to learn and experience, but here are 5 things I’ve learned so far about developing pitchers and managing a staff. 🧵:
Main stay in the middle of our line up for years. Plays harder than anyone. Look up the SB’s & HBP. Hits with 2k. Knows how to play the game. Kid is an old school throwback type player. Someone is going to get a steal. Please reach out with any questions @FlatgroundBats

You are only as good as the pitches you swing at. Conversely, you will be bad if you swing at bad pitches.
Good hitters swing at good pitches to hit. Bad hitters swing at bad pitches and miss good ones.

Played two seasons @CVCCBaseball and two @MHUbaseball. Due to NCAA legislation, I have no remaining years of DII eligibility. However, I do have one year of DI eligibility and am open to all oppurtunities. I am thankful for everyone who has helped me along the way.
At higher levels, 99% of hitting issues come from being late, or in other words, not being ready to hit. When we are late we chase bad pitches and miss good ones.
Hot take: most amateur hitters and their coaches focus on mechanics, thinking magic can be sprinkled and outcomes will change. Mechanics matter for sure but let’s talk about timing and pitch selection before we make wholesale swing changes!
