The FIFA hydration break is pure capitalism.

Both these teams are capable of winning the World Cup. Ancelloti has the gravitas and experience to make tweaks to Brazil to improve them as the tournament goes on. He's already learnt some valuable lessons in selection. The result isn't a bad one for Brazil.
Morocco is so unbelievably serious. Front to back legitimate contender. I’m having a blast explaining to real life Americans that 1) this is a reigning World Cup semi finalist and 2) this isn’t actually a shock score line

Are Americans incapable of organising sporting fixtures so they start on the hour?

In 04/05 when Messi was 17 he had 9 appearances and scored 1 goal. No one showed what Yamal did in "his early days", not Rio's fault our ex-coach refused to play him a bit more. Rio was winning Motms in most of the games he played. Debuts for England, wins Man of the Match again.
I love Rio but he hasn't shown what Yamal showed in his early days to be getting shouted as almost a shoe-in for the LW position. Let's be serious please.

And no I'm not comparing Rio to Messi or Yamal. I just want to point out how dumb it is to say if you've not done as much as Yamal at Yamal's age then you're not ready. Liverpool have a long traditional of teenagers breaking through and being key players in our team.

They key is that he shouldn't be overplayed or too much pressure put on him as our saviour. But he's ready to play. Others need to take minutes there as well, that can be Gakpo or Wirtz in some games (ideally we can upgrade on Gakpo but not with someone too young that blocks Rio)

More often than not the team that wins the World Cup grows into the competition. It's rarer for the winner to be a team that played great from the very first game.

This is not a bad idea at all. Fabinho might not be what he was but Brazil have no protection. Paqueta and Guimares have both been trash but Guimares should stay on. I might take off Casemiro though.
Ancelotti should sub in Fabinho on for Paquetá right now. Not even let the first half end. And push Bruno G forward.

Igor Thiago is playing like someone who's getting affected by the occasion and the surprise start. If doesn't start keeping hold of the ball and doing more he's not going to start again.

Paqueta has been awful so far.

Gabriel when he's not playing in a back 6 with defensive midfielders doesn't look so clever.

Ali came out too far. Out of his area he can't use his hands. But my word Brazil were wide open.

When even Guimares is giving away simple passes it's hard to start well. But Brazil have settled more now, and been stringing some passes together. They're attackers are dangerous if you can get them the ball, even if the team isn't cohesive.

This starting XI is not it for Brazil. Very bad first 10mins. Can't seem to pass out from the back at all, Morroco much better and more cohesive. Ancelloti will need to tweak things as the competition goes on.

The BBC are saving so much money by not going to the World Cup itself. They could at least have a mornings MOTD for the games the day before? Having to find the highlights on YouTube is fine for me, but my 83 year old dad is really struggling to find them. Poor from @BBCSport

Strange that I might low-key prefer Blatter's form of corruption to the cowardly cuck Infantino's form of corruption.
A FIFA World Cup host country must guarantee two fundamental principles: the safety of the country — and the unrestricted entry of all qualified teams, officials and referees. The case of referee Omar Artan from Somalia is against one of these obligations. FIFA must never compromise the universality of football. #Fifa #Somalia #GianniInfantino #CAF #OmarAtan #DonaldTrump
