We applaud @DemWomenCaucus for urging lawmakers to strike this dangerous provision that would shield Uber & Lyft from responsibility & deny survivors access to justice.
Rideshare companies that market themselves as safe and reliable transportation options must protect passengers and drivers alike.
Congress must strengthen rideshare safety protections and increase corporate accountability—not create pathways for immunity for multibillion-dollar corporations.
That’s why we’re urging Speaker Johnson to protect women nationwide by removing a provision from the BUILD America 250 Act that would shield rideshare companies, such as Uber and Lyft, from liability when passengers are sexually assaulted, injured, or killed during their rides.
