Technological innovation can be a form of participation in the divine act of creation. It carries an ethical and spiritual weight, for every design choice expresses a vision of humanity. The Church therefore calls all builders of #AI to cultivate moral discernment as a fundamental part of their work—to develop systems that reflect justice, solidarity, and a genuine reverence for life.

funny enough this is what LLMs should be useful for (fuzzy refactoring) but they also hate composition and love huge components
components should feel like lego blocks you have many primitives you can assemble into anything you want they should NOT feel like finished products if I see ONE more <SignIn />

most people on here don't know that you should be pressing the mute button at least as often as you press the like button. maybe more

One key life lesson: you don’t have to return every serve. When someone’s rude or provocative whether online or in person the best response is to deny it engagement and attention. It might seem defeatist, but I frame it as “this comment is beneath my dignity.”

I've been experimenting with writing an object store from scratch using io_uring, async Rust, and atomic writes, called blobd. On a single machine, it hits sub-millisecond random reads and 100% disk write throughput.

Sickening results. Absolutely appalling. This is the most outrageous, horrific, egregious finding I've ever seen.
For each additional moral–emotional word in a social media post, the expected number of shares is 13% greater. Our new meta-analysis in @PNASNexus finds robust evidence of moral contagion (N = 4,821,006; 5 labs, 27 studies). The moral contagion effect is even stronger in larger, pre-registered studies (a 17% increase). Our paper was led by @william__brady @steverathje2 and @laura_k_globig

why are there like 5 browser sync engines in various beta stages and basically none that are mature GA? did they all get started around the same time? that doesn’t seem like the case to me
sync engines cant get stable fast enough

this farmer sounds like the coolest guy ever
The big article on data centers in the New Yorker is pretty good, which I wasn’t expecting given the reaction on X. Lots of good and bad: and covering both bubble & non-bubble arguments. It also featured the best version of “I spoke to a local farmer about a data center”
