At what point does Rookie Manager Craig Stammen’s seat start to get hot?

Fastball low and inner third. Watches it go by. This is the pitch you come out of your shoes to hit as a LHH. WTF are we doing here.

If we can’t right the ship, do we zig when we should zag and sell off guys in contract years to reload? We could own the trade deadline with King, Morejon, Adam, etc. Could bring back quite the haul to help supplement the roster and system while new ownership spends $$$ in FA.

The last three innings of today’s game was absolutely BRUTAL to watch as a Padres fan. You can’t make choices like those in the last third of the game and expect to win games consistently. That’s some minor league crap right there.

Stammen has used Miller in way to many 4 out saves in the first couple of months this season. Got to protect that arm for the long haul. This is why they are connected to Chapman to reduce the usage on Miller hopefully. Bats need to come alive regardless for it to matter.

Ty Harvey also getting some love at the end of the piece of someone who will probably be on top 100 lists this next off-season.
We’ve already seen a plethora of players from @keithlaw’s preseason top 100 MLB prospect rankings reach or appear in the majors this year, including the top two prospects, five of the top 10, four of the next 10 and 18 from the top 50.

0-4 with RISP for the Padres in the bottom of the first. I’m at the point I’d rather see Song at 3B and BJ in CF for a game again.

A pathetic bottom of the first from the middle of the order.

Acquiring a Chapman or similar back end reliever would double down on our core strength and also limit the stressful innings on our other back end relievers. A LHR like Chapman also allows you to use Morejon as more of a fireman type kind of how Andrew Miller was used previously.

Padres LHP Zack Qin threw on rehab assignment tonight in Tempe - coming off 2025 TJ. K'd 7 in 3 IP. Smooth mover w/clean mechanics. High slot N/S approach. Big ride/carry FB plays above its velo. Lot of sw/m up in zone. feel for spin, two sharp breakers. Full thoughts to come..

Out of all minor league hitters under 22 years old with >20 BIP (626 players), Padres catching prospect Ty Harvey ranks 1st in HardHit rate. Pretty crazy for a 19-year-old.

Jason Adam has a 1.63 ERA since joining the Padres during the 2024 trade deadline. It is the lowest ERA among qualified relievers in that span.

The most troubling thing to me is simply the amount of meatballs that Fernando is missing. Pitches over the heart of the plate belt level. Those are the pitches MLB hitters are hunting for…not Fernando though.
