I lost a co-founder but found a wife.
When I was starting Atrios with my fiance Daisy Dolan, everyone told me it was a bad idea.
I listened, thought about it and understood the risks.
But I also knew I needed her to get the company off the ground.
She had A TON of experience in what we were building from her background leading $500M/year sales orgs.
She had the emotional regulation and ability to see things I couldn't.
She made work fun :)
We decided to commit to working together for a year.
In that year, Atrios raised $5M, scaled to over 30 enterprise accounts who will be spending over 6 figures/year with us and 10 full time employees.
In that year we also got married :)
A few months ago, she brought up that it has been a year and said "You and the company are good now, you got this".
Words I didn't want to hear, but knew were true.
She's going back to where she is best and most comfortable at a later stage company and has transitioned to an advisor role at Atrios.
Working with your significant other is fun, rewarding and challenging.
Im so grateful to have had this experience and closed this chapter in such a great way.
