✨️Year 10✨️ This has been my best year yet! I grew as a STEM Teacher, improved my grant writing skills, and worked with some amazing teachers on my team, on my campus, and across the district. #grateful@NISDMcDermott
3rd Graders studied force and motion this year, so of course we engineered amusement park rides! One of the requirements was that it had to be able to move with a push or pull. It was tricky, bit these kids persevered! @NISDMcDermott@NISDSTEMLabs@NISDElemScience
These first graders did an amazing job using Talebots these last couple of weeks. They reviewed the life cycle of plants and created their very own stories while learning to program. @NISDMcDermott@NISDSTEMLabs
Welcome home Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy! 🫶
The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
4th Graders were Lyft Drivers this week. They programmed a @Sphero Bolt to follow a path to pick up "passengers". We had a lot fun working on our debugging skills and adding silly messages and animations to the programs. @NISDSTEMLabs@NISDMcDermott
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: nasa.gov/artemis-ii-multimed…

For the first time in over 50 years, humans are Moonbound.
At 6:35 p.m. EDT (2235 UTC) NASA’s Space Launch System rocket and the Orion spacecraft lifted off from the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, sending four astronauts on a planned test flight around the Moon and back. go.nasa.gov/4tlRfRS

The @NISDMcDermott Falcon Finders did an amazing job at the @NISD Robotics Championship this weekend! We got to visit with some former students on the @NISDRawlinson Teams. And my co-coach won the Distinguished Coach Award! Well deserved!
Planetarium time @NISDMcDermott What an amazing experience to bring to the night sky and the wonders of space to our students. I can't tell you how many kids have come up and raved about it afterward. @NISD@NISDElemScience
Last weekend, the @NISDMcDermott Falcon Finders had an amazing time at the Robotics Competition! We showcased the coding, research, and team building these kids have done over the past school year. We can't wait for finals! @NISDElemScience@SollarsAmalia
So proud of my firsties for meeting and exceeding their goal on @Istationed and special thanks to @TeachMsRoss for 3D printing them gold stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ @NISDMcDermott

Each 1st Grader is taking home their very own pothos ivy. We reused old water bottles and learned about plant parts and their basic needs! Hopefully our hydroponic gardens grow as well as these ivy plants! @NISDMcDermott@NISDSTEMLabs@NISDElemScience
Can 4th graders @NISDMcDermott redesign a dog's prosthetic leg? Yes! For our culminating 3D printing project, students evaluated the example prosthetic's structure, suggested improvements, then redesigned it in @tinkercad to boost function and 3D design skills! @NISDSTEMLabs
