3rd Graders studied force and motion this year, so of course we engineered amusement park rides! One of the requirements was that it had to be able to move with a push or pull. It was tricky, bit these kids persevered! @NISDMcDermott @NISDSTEMLabs @NISDElemScience

These first graders did an amazing job using Talebots these last couple of weeks. They reviewed the life cycle of plants and created their very own stories while learning to program. @NISDMcDermott @NISDSTEMLabs

4th Graders were Lyft Drivers this week. They programmed a @Sphero Bolt to follow a path to pick up "passengers". We had a lot fun working on our debugging skills and adding silly messages and animations to the programs. @NISDSTEMLabs @NISDMcDermott

Each 1st Grader is taking home their very own pothos ivy. We reused old water bottles and learned about plant parts and their basic needs! Hopefully our hydroponic gardens grow as well as these ivy plants! @NISDMcDermott @NISDSTEMLabs @NISDElemScience

Can 4th graders @NISDMcDermott redesign a dog's prosthetic leg? Yes! For our culminating 3D printing project, students evaluated the example prosthetic's structure, suggested improvements, then redesigned it in @tinkercad to boost function and 3D design skills! @NISDSTEMLabs
