Set a treadmill at 21kph ( max most will go to) and try to run for 30 seconds on it. That's what he did for 1 hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds. The peak of human physical achievement. Insane, absolutely insane.
A moment we thought we would never see 🤯 Sabastian Sawe has become the first person to run a marathon in under two hours in race conditions.

I'm running a rare (cos I never have time any more) Whole Class Reading In KS2 Zoom on Sunday morning at 10am next week, if anyone fancies it. I know it's short notice. Retweets appreciated if anyone's still here. eventbrite.com/e/whole-class…

A lot of schools I work with are now moving towards a two-week October half-term (if they haven’t done so already). The advantages are obvious. Teachers get the break that they need after the longest half-term of the year, as do students. Absences caused by ill health should reduce, and the second half-term should be all the more manageable for the extra rest that everyone has got. Having two weeks in October also has knock on’s with holiday elsewhere, but so far the anecdotal evidence is that it is worth it. Has anyone been in a school that has made this change? What are the benefits that you’ve seen? Or, if you’re in a setting that has always been this way, would you want to change to a one-week half-term in October?

Lovely reminder of ‘what it’s all about’. Enjoyed some lovely conversations with parents and children this week about their super achievements and progress. 💚

Kind offer from someone who has been supportive to me personally- highly recommend 🙌
Some will know I recently moved from Kent to Northumberland and loving the rural pace. To give back, I’m offering 2 fully-funded leadership development days (1 school, 1 Trust) free coaching for a Headteacher to local schools within an hour or so.

Experience reflection = expertise. Most of it sits with people who are busy teaching. If 2026 is the year you’re more vocal, the profession will be better for it. Following.

2026 is the year I start ‘speaking up’ I have so much knowledge/experience and qualifications but feel ‘invisible’. I know a lot - so am going to be more vocal. What separates one ‘expert’ from another? #positivity

*Annual Reminder* Us British Muslims are NOT offended by Christmas. We don’t want it cancelled. Sing your carols and put up your trees and wish us a happy Christmas too! Don’t let anybody try to tell you otherwise. It’s just another way to divide us!

After the video I posted last week about the motherhood penalty, and how the invisible load expected of mums has seeped into the workload issues in a female-dominated profession, this just takes it further. Teacher maternity pay compared to the rest of the public sector makes
