Been trying to get in contact with a student’s parent for 3 weeks. Just got an email from the parent asking for work for the next two weeks because of a family vacation. No mention of the concerns I’ve communicated over the past 3 weeks. COOL.

(For the record, I think it’s incredibly inappropriate but I have coworkers who shrugged and said it wasn’t a big deal)
Being a good teacher truly just results in more work (observations by coaches and other teachers, difficult/more students because you “can handle it”). Punished for being good.

I just quit a committee I (stupidly) volunteered to be on because it was unproductive and didn’t feel bad about it at all. (And all the overworked, underpaid teachers said… AMEN)
