This video is insane. And a great teaching moment. Reporter asks Bill Belichick (6x Super Bowl coach): "Why have a long-snapper on the roster?" Bill gives a 10-minute speech on it on the spot. The greatest CEOs think so deeply about their craft it's almost weird.

Life has no meaning a priori … It is up to you to give it a meaning, and value is nothing but the meaning that you choose. -Jean-Paul Sartre

If your school uses iPads, you have to check out the Everyone Can Create series, including the Teacher Guide! Keynote is an incredible tool, goes way beyond presentations! books.apple.com/us/book-seri… #everyonecancreate @AppleEDU

I asked a school principal, a football coach and business leader when their team became a powerful team. They all said when we served each other instead of ourselves. We before me!

It shouldn't hold our students back. As educators, we cannot continue to use legacy teaching practices with new tools nor can we rely on tech to teach the students. technologyreview.com/2019/12…

We need to be explicit with students on how to use technology and use it as a tool, not let it become a replacement for good teaching practices. To use an analogy, if I gave 10 people woodworking tools, said build a table, some would be successful...and some would fail dismally.

I agree, and also, KNOW YOUR STUDENTS! All of these influences are wonderful, but based on your students, implement those that will have the greatest impact based on your students. Implement one influential strategy at a time, soon teachers will have a wonderful toolbox!

#ThoughtForTheDay As principals, we should avoid global messages about staff behavior. Staff don't deserve universal addresses. The same holds true for teachers when it comes to addressing students. We need to deal with the offenders, not the entire group. #Culturize

#ThoughtForTheDay Anonymous surveys perpetuate & breed mistrust. Schools & districts must move to one on one conversations in order to shift from “someone is out to get me” to “someone wants to help me.” Only then can wounded & toxic cultures begin to heal. #Culturize

The problem with the current public education model is that it was created for the industrial revolution. Former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said that the K-12 system “largely still adheres to the industrial-age factory model of education.” learningpersonalized.com/get…

It's loud! Students using @Flipgrid for their reading responses today! But this "loud" is great conversation around books and reading. 📖🤔🧠 @eecsportland
