A big honor for a Baltimore educator. Band director and music teacher Dr. Otis Eldridge has been named Baltimore City Public Schoolsβ 2026 Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Eldridge teaches at Hamilton Elementary/Middle School and is a proud graduate of Baltimore City Public Schools. A three-time graduate of Morgan State University, he has spent more than a decade inspiring students through music education and arts integration.
The award was presented during a surprise announcement at the school. As Teacher of the Year, Dr. Eldridge will go on to compete for Maryland State Teacher of the Year and could advance to the national level.
