So ends G-STAR!
Long post incoming but just to wrap up my thoughts real quick…
This was my second G-STAR, and I definitely enjoyed it quite a bit more compared to last time. Of course, the Palworld Mobile booth was a large part of that!
The Korean games industry, like many in Asia, is very insular, so it’s hard to make connections and meet new people when coming from the outside. However, I think we managed to make a lot of new friends and meet a lot of interesting people this year so the trip feels worth it.
I took some time to wander the indie area and saw some really cool games, so I’m glad the Korean indie scene continues to grow! To highlight a few I saw…
Sephiria from
@TeamHoray.
Really gorgeous little pixel roguelite. Very snappy controls and a lot of charm to it.
Entree Dungeon from Congizi
@EntreeDungeon. Think Nuclear Throne meets cooking! Really lovely art style. Definitely one to check out!
Pebble Knights from
@51pkr. Cute Brotato style game with a lot of humour. Very snappy and responsive mechanics.
Looking forward to seeing how the indie scene in Korea continues to grow and at the rate they are going, I’m sure we’re going to see a few big hits come out of there very very soon! Until next year G-STAR! 🤝
