#attention... A video has been circulating on social media accompanied by the caption: "An Iraqi man captures on camera the presence of snipers inside one of the U.S. stadiums hosting the 2026 World Cup." #The_Truth: Although the report of snipers deployed outside Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles is accurate, the video purporting to show snipers deployed inside one of the U.S. stadiums hosting the 2026 World Cup is misleading. as it turns out the clip is from a send-off ceremony held to mark the Uzbek national soccer team’s participation in the 2026 World Cup finals and has no connection to security measures inside the U.S. stadiums hosting the tournament. Upon verifying the video by conducting a reverse image search on several stills extracted from it, it was found that the clip was posted by an Uzbek account on Instagram on May 22, 2026. The poster included a comment stating, According to the translation: "Today, in the presence of our president, we reverently watched the Uzbek national team on its way to the World Cup. During the event, moving words, soccer celebrations, and unforgettable moments filled everyone with high spirits." In other words, the circulating claim is false, as the video was not filmed by an Iraqi fan, nor was it filmed inside one of the U.S. stadiums hosting the 2026 World Cup matches; rather, it was filmed by an Uzbek individual inside the Bunyodkor Stadium in Uzbekistan, during an event related to the Uzbek national team’s participation in the World Cup. It also turned out that the video was filmed during a farewell ceremony for the Uzbek national team, which qualified for the 2026 World Cup, in the presence of Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which was held at Bunyodkor Stadium in the capital Tashkent, and not inside one of the U.S. stadiums hosting the tournament as claimed. The circulation of this video comes after the spread of clips and photos documenting the presence of snipers outside the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #photoshop... A photo has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating: "Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim assures the Lebanese ambassador of his full approval for the employment of 3,000 Lebanese workers at a salary of 800,000 in the Baghdad Municipality, with the aim of strengthening relations between the two countries." #The_Truth: The report that Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the Al-Hikma Movement, has approved the employment of 3,000 Lebanese workers in the Baghdad Municipality is false and untrue. It has also been revealed that the circulating photo was digitally altered using artificial intelligence techniques, as the Lebanese ambassador to Iraq is Khalil Abdullah Mohammed, not a “female ambassador” as stated in the fake post. Upon verifying the alleged news using keywords via search engines, no reliable source was found to support this claim, nor was any news on this matter posted on Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim’s official Facebook account, and no local media outlets, whether official or unofficial, covered such a story. We verified the image by conducting a reverse image search and found the original version, which shows the leader of the Al-Hikma Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, accompanied by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani. The photo was posted on Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim’s official account on May 24, 2026, during his reception of Masrour Barzani. As for the widely circulated image showing a woman standing next to Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, examination using specialized image analysis tools revealed that its elements are unrealistic and that it was generated using artificial intelligence techniques to a high degree. This indicates that the original photo was digitally manipulated by replacing the image of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region with that of a woman added using AI tools. The post also contains incorrect information regarding the presence of a “Lebanese ambassador” in Iraq, as the Lebanese Embassy in Iraq is headed by Ambassador Khalil Abdullah Mohammed, who presented his credentials to former Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid in February 2026, and not an ambassador as claimed in the circulating allegation. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #photoshop... A photo has been circulating on social media with the caption: "An Iraqi police officer surprises his wife with a bouquet of flowers at a gas station." #The_Truth: The circulating photo does not show an Iraqi police officer surprising his wife with a bouquet of flowers at a gas station, as claimed. Rather, it turns out to be a photo manipulated using artificial intelligence techniques, based on an original still taken from a video documenting an incident in which a member of the Energy Police in Kirkuk Province assaulted a citizen. We verified the image by conducting a reverse image search, and found the original video, which was published by several media outlets on June 13, 2026. It shows a citizen documenting his assault by an officer while filing a complaint at a gas station in Kirkuk. An examination of the image using specialized image analysis tools also revealed that itis unrealistic and highly likely to have been generated using artificial intelligence techniques, indicating that the original shot was digitally manipulated by adding a bouquet of flowers and a woman’s hand, two elements not present in the original scene. Analysis of the image also revealed clear signs of digital manipulation, most notably the distortion of text on military insignia and its illegibility, as well as errors in the details of the hands and fingers and their lack of consistency, which are common signs in images generated or modified using AI techniques. In a related development, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Ministry of the Interior ordered the formation of an investigative committee and the arrest of a member of the Energy Police in Kirkuk Governorate for assaulting a citizen at a gas station, according to a statement published by the ministry on its official Facebook page. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

We verified the circulating statement using keywords on search engines, and found no reliable source supporting this claim. Furthermore, no such statement was published on the official account of the Prime Minister’s Media Office or his official social media accounts. A photo showing the Lebanese ambassador with the former President of the Republic of Iraq during the presentation of his credentials It is worth noting that the Baghdad Secretariat issued a statement on June 9, 2026, in which it affirmed that: “The news or statements circulating on some social media sites attributed to the Baghdad Secretariat or to the Secretary of Baghdad, Engineer Ammar Musa Kazem, are false and completely baseless.” #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #fake_post... A photo has been circulating on social media accompanied by the caption: "Barcelona striker Lewandowski is supporting the Iraqi national team in the World Cup with this photo." #The_Truth: The photo, which allegedly shows Polish player Robert Lewandowski wearing the Iraqi national team’s jersey in support of the team at the World Cup, is fake and was generated using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. When examined using specialized image analysis tools, the results showed that the photo is fake and was generated with a high degree of AI technology. An examination of the image using Google’s Gemini tool also revealed that the image is fake, as clear visual distortions can be observed. For instance, when looking at the fingers of the right hand (in the image, the person’s right hand from behind), it is evident that the shape and size of the fingers appear strange and unnatural—one of the most common areas where AI technologies often make mistakes. Additionally, the overall texture of the skin and the lighting on the face appear excessively smooth and polished (a plastic-like effect), which is a common feature in AI-generated images. We verified the authenticity of the circulating image and found no reliable source confirming its authenticity, as the official account of Polish player Robert Lewandowski contains no similar image, nor have sports media outlets published any similar images. Furthermore, search results using keywords in both Arabic and Polish did not yield any information confirming the authenticity of this image. This image began circulating after the Iraqi national team qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals, marking its second appearance following its sole participation in the 1986 World Cup. The team secured its spot after defeating Bolivia 2-1 in the intercontinental playoff. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#Clarification... A video has been circulating on social media in which a woman recounts the details of a heartbreaking incident. She said her son had led her to believe he was sending her on a pilgrimage to Mecca, but instead took her to a nursing home and left her there. #The_Clarification: The circulating video in which a woman recounts that her son tricked her into believing he was sending her on a pilgrimage to Mecca before leaving her at a nursing home does not document a real incident; rather, it is a clip taken from a series of dramatized scenes depicting real-life stories, and it was published in 2025. We verified the video by conducting a reverse image search and found the full version, which was posted by a young man named Jawad Adel on his social media accounts on April 22, 2025. It turns out that the circulating clip is an excerpt from a series of dramatized scenes depicting real-life stories, and is not a documentation of a real incident as claimed. Jawad Adel, a star of the talent show Yooz Talent, in the full clip, playing the role of a journalist conducting field research to document the lives of mothers in a nursing home, and he highlights the stories and circumstances that led them to this place by listening to their testimonies and personal accounts. Jawad Adel clarified that the work shown in the video is a dramatized scene based on real-life stories, not a documentation of a real-life event. Alongside this clip, Jawad Adel also posted a series of fictional videos produced by Asia Cell Telecommunications, which address a number of social issues and phenomena in public life. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... A video has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating, "The headquarters of the Ministry of Defense and the Israeli Air Force have been targeted." #The_Truth: The video, which allegedly shows the targeting of the Israeli Ministry of Defense headquarters and the Israeli Air Force headquarters, is false. It has been determined that the video is old and dates back to 2025. It shows a fire engulfing high-rise residential buildings in Hong Kong and has no connection to any targeting of military sites. We verified the video by conducting a reverse image search on several frames from it, and found that it was published by news outlets on November 26, 2025. The video shows a fire breaking out at the Wang Fu residential complex, a complex consisting of eight residential buildings in the Tai Po area of northeastern Hong Kong, meaning the clip has no connection to any targeting of the Israeli Ministry of Defense headquarters or the Israeli Air Force headquarters. This video is being circulated alongside the false claim following a wave of rockets launched by Iran toward the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel on the evening of Sunday, June 7, 2026, marking the first direct attack of this kind since the ceasefire last April, in response to Israeli occupation airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #fake_post... A video has been circulating on social media accompanied by text claiming that "77 Iraqi lawmakers in the parliament have contracted the dangerous infectious disease AIDS." #The_Truth: The report claiming that 77 Iraqi MPs have contracted AIDS is false. Furthermore, the video clip is from the 15th session of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and a fake voiceover has been added to it. We verified the circulating news using keywords on search engines, and found no reliable source supporting this claim. Furthermore, no statement or announcement regarding this matter was published on the Iraqi Council of Representatives’ official social media accounts, nor did any local media outlets—whether official or unofficial—cover this story. We also verified the video by conducting a reverse image search on several of the scenes it contained, and it turned out that it was posted on the Iraqi Council of Representatives’ official account on April 6, 2026. It also became clear that the video dates back to the 15th session of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, during which a vote was held on parliamentary committees. Furthermore, upon checking the official accounts and website of Al-Iraqiya News Channel, we found no news report containing the same claim or similar information. This indicates that the video’s publisher deliberately edited the footage into a template bearing the Al-Iraqiya News Channel’s branding, adding fabricated voice-over narration, with the aim of misleading viewers and making them believe the content originated from an official and reliable media outlet. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #fake_news... A report has been circulating on social media claiming that Communications Minister Mustafa Jabbar Sanad is imposing a set of conditions on AsiaCell and Zain. #The_Truth: The circulating report claiming that Communications Minister Mustafa Jabbar Sanad has imposed a set of conditions on AsiaCell and Zain is false, as the Ministry of Communications does not have the authority to impose conditions directly on telecommunications companies, since this matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Media and Communications Commission. We verified the circulating news using keywords on search engines, and found no reliable source supporting this claim. Furthermore, no statement or announcement regarding this matter was published on the official social media accounts of the Ministry of Communications or Minister Mustafa Jabbar Sanad, and no local media outlet covered this story. It is worth noting that Minister of Communications Mustafa Jabbar Sanad clarified in a comment on one of his posts dated May 17, 2026, that AsiaCell and Atheer (formerly) Zain Iraq (currently) and Korek are subject to the supervision of the Media and Communications Commission, while internet companies are subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Communications. The Ministry of Communications also clarified on February 19, 2025, that the license contracts for mobile phone companies (AsiaCell, Zain, and Korek) are concluded with the Media and Communications Commission and not with the Ministry, and that the Ministry’s role is limited to technical and operational aspects in accordance with the Commission’s decisions, which confirms the inaccuracy of the circulating claim. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... The following news report has been circulating on social media: "A civilian passenger plane crashed in the Karbala desert in Iraq while preparing to land at Najaf Airport. It was carrying 150 people, all of whom were killed. (It is likely that the passengers were on a pilgrimage.)" #The_Truth: The report claiming that a civilian passenger plane carrying 150 people crashed in the Karbala desert, killing everyone on board, is false. Iraqi official authorities have denied that any incident involving a civilian aircraft occurred within Iraqi airspace or territory. and analysis of the images showed that the object that crashed was a drone. For his part, the head of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, Bankin Rekani, the circulating reports regarding the crash of a civilian aircraft in Iraq on June 8, 2026, confirming that no such incident had been recorded and urging the public to obtain information from official sources and not to be swayed by rumors. In a related development, the governor of Karbala, Nasif Jassim Al-Khatabi, denied the accuracy of circulating reports regarding a passenger plane crash, suggesting that the object that fell in the Karbala desert was likely a drone, not a civilian aircraft. This claim spread after videos and photos of burning wreckage in a desert area of Karbala province circulated, prompting some social media pages to claim that the wreckage belonged to a passenger plane that crashed with dozens of passengers on board. According to the circulating images of the wreckage, one of the visible pieces bore an identification number corresponding to a section of the wing of an American MQ-9 Reaper drone, a vehicle designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and military operations, manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. According to an analysis by the “Tactical Cell” page on Facebook, the visible serial number matches the wing tip assembly of MQ-9 aircraft, supporting the hypothesis that the debris belongs to a military drone, not a passenger aircraft. As for the reasons behind its crash, no official information has yet been released specifying how it was shot down or who was responsible for it. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #fake_post... A video has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating, "The price of gasoline next month will be 1,200 Iraqi dinars per liter due to a shortage of refineries and reliance on imported fuel." #The_Truth: The report claiming that the price of gasoline will rise to 1,200 Iraqi dinars per liter next month is false, as no such announcement has been made by official sources to date. Furthermore, the video clip dates back to the first session of the Ministerial Council for Energy, and a fake voiceover has been added to it. We verified the video by conducting a reverse image search on several frames, and it turned out that it was posted by the official account of the Media Office of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi on June 4, 2026. The video shows the Prime Minister presiding over the first regular session of the Ministerial Council for Energy, which was dedicated to discussing issues related to Iraq’s oil and energy sector, in light of the changes in global markets and their impact on crude oil exports. The meeting also discussed government measures to boost Iraq’s export capacity and maintain oil revenues. The publisher superimposed the video onto footage from Al-Iraqiya News Channel and added fabricated dubbing, with the aim of misleading viewers and making them believe that the clip came from an official media source. We verified the circulating news using keywords on search engines, and found no credible source supporting this claim. Furthermore, no statement or announcement regarding this matter was published on the official social media accounts of the Prime Minister’s Media Office, the Ministry of Oil, or the Oil Products Distribution Company. Additionally, none of the local media outlets, whether official or unofficial, this news This fake post began circulating days after a gasoline crisis occurred in the capital, Baghdad, and several other cities. Meanwhile, on June 4, 2026, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced that Iraq continues to secure oil derivatives for domestic consumption despite the pressures facing the energy sector due to regional conditions, explaining that the withdrawal of a foreign company that was working on implementing the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit in southern refineries led to a loss of part of the high-octane gasoline production. It added that higher domestic consumption rates during holiday periods and religious visits contributed to increased fuel demand, which on some days caused consumption to exceed normal production rates, despite production continuing at its usual levels. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #fake_post... A screenshot of a post allegedly shared by U.S. President Donald Trump on his "Truth Social" account has been circulating on social media, accompanied by the caption: "Trump attacks Kuwait: It is stupid and worse than Saudi Arabia." #The_Truth: The post circulating and attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump on “Truth Social,” which includes an attack on Kuwait and describes it as “stupid and worse than Saudi Arabia,” is fake. We conducted a search using keywords in both Arabic and English via search engines, and we checked U.S. President Donald Trump’s official accounts to verify the authenticity of the post circulating on social media, but we found no reliable source confirming this claim. Furthermore, international media outlets have not covered this post. There are also several indicators suggesting that the post is fake and was not published by Donald Trump on the “Truth Social” platform, including: - The absence of a date or time of publication. - The absence of the usual interaction buttons, such as like, share, and comment. The circulation of this fake post comes in the wake of multiple attacks launched by Iran against Kuwait on June 6, 2026. In this context, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the same date condemning the Iranian attacks, affirming that they pose a direct threat to the lives of citizens and residents, as well as to the security and stability of the region. #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... #photoshop... An image has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating: "The Cabinet approves a proposed law to collect fees from elementary school students—10,000 per student—middle school students—15,000—preparatory school students—20,000—and college students—30,000." #The_Truth: The circulating report claiming that the Iraqi Cabinet has approved the imposition of tuition fees on school and university students—10,000 dinars for elementary school students, 15,000 dinars for middle school students, 20,000 dinars for middle school students, and 30,000 dinars for college students, is fake and untrue. Furthermore, the circulating graphic is fabricated, as a news template attributed to the “Al-Sabah” platform was used and fake text was added to it. We verified the circulating news using keywords on search engines, and found no reliable source supporting this claim. Furthermore, no statement or announcement regarding this matter has been published on the official social media accounts of the Prime Minister’s Media Office or the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, none of thelocal media outlets, whether official or unofficial, reported on this story. As for the attached image, it is fabricated. We verified this by conducting a reverse image search using the Al-saabiea platform template, where the original text was altered and replaced with the fake news, and the original version of the image published by Al-Sabah on January 28, 2025, was identified, which included the following text: "The Cabinet approves the allocation of 398.6 billion dinars for the upcoming parliamentary elections and their inclusion in the budget amendments." Upon reviewing the fourth regular session of the Cabinet held on June 2, 2026, we found no mention of any item or even a decision addressing the alleged proposal regarding a tax law to be imposed on school and college students. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Education had previously denied, on February 11, 2026, that it had submitted a request to enact a law or decision mandating the collection of fees from school students. The ministry’s spokesperson, Karim al-Sayyid, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, that: "This news is completely false, and no decision or directive has been issued in this regard," calling on students and parents to “rely exclusively on news released by the Ministry of Education’s official channels and platforms, and not to be swayed by rumors or materials published outside of approved institutional frameworks.” It should be noted that the 2005 Iraqi Constitution stipulates in Article 34, specifically in its second paragraph, that: "Free education is a right for all Iraqis at all levels." #it_ends_with_us #Tech4Peace #T4P

#attention... A video has been circulating on social media accompanied by text stating: "Qais al-Khazali calls on Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi to reduce the salaries of the three presidencies and to vote on a fair and equitable pay scale for all Iraqi government employees." #The_Truth: The circulating video, which purports to show the secretary-general of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Qais al-Khazali, calling on Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi to reduce the salaries of the three presidencies and vote on the salary scale, is old and dates back to 2023, not recent as claimed. We verified the video by conducting a reverse image search on several frames and found that it was posted on the official Telegram account of the media office of Asaib Ahl al-Haq Secretary-General Qais al-Khazali on June 7, 2023. In other words, the video is not recent, nor does it contain a call directed at Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi to reduce the salaries of the three presidencies, as al-Zaydi was not serving as prime minister at that time; rather, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani held that position at the time.
