Replying to @TEU_THW_VUW
Yeah, nah @jantinetti - you can say tertiary education needs to adapt but the problem is the cuts fall according to bums on seats, and bums on seats are not a good predictor of societal needs. It's the funding mechanism that's stuffed, not the universities.

Caught a taxi from international the other day...OMG, if you were old or infirm you would expire before reaching the pick up point. Might be okay if family are picking you up, but as for taxis... Watch: A first look at Auckland Airport's new drop-off area rnz.co.nz/news/national/5127…

For as long as I live I will never forget that we have created a world where children have to hold a press conference saying they want to live.

Terrifying images have been coming thick and fast over the last 3 years, from the tragic Australian fires to a non-stop series of catastrophic floods. The talk has turned to adaptation and high tech-removal of emissions. Yeah, and nah. Low-tech solutions rolled out now.
A wise person once said that you will experience climate change through a series of increasingly wild videos, until you are the one taking the video.

Scary stuff - you’d think we’d make a step change to stop this sh?t but nope
If you live in the bush, country towns or the outskirts of major cities, it’s time to prepare for the possibility of fire. And if you live anywhere in Australia, you need to plan for heat. Researchers from @victoriauninews share their tips for how you can prepare.

Just back from the UK and thought I'd found the perfect car for me...an allgrip hybrid suzuki ignis: small and low pollution. But no! Suzuki only offers big emitters or big space takers in the NZ all wheel drive market. Missed opportunity @suzukimotonz
