CounterSide will be ending service on all servers on August 26, 2026. The game launched in February 2020.
The game is planned to return via a reboot project:
"CounterSide is planned to return in the form of a reboot project, following a period of reorganization and renewal.
Through the reboot project, we intend to revisit the very foundations of CounterSide and share the results of our deep reflection on what CounterSide, as a hard-boiled urban fantasy, should truly be.

Honestly, I can unironically see a turn based RE game if you frame it properly.
And I don't mean XCOM style "ahhh I got bad rng I'm being eaten alive" type of Umbrella XCOM hybrid.
I can easily foresee a Metal Gear Acid RE style spin off, if it's fun enough.
