So about the Knicks... It's hard not to feel happy for this team. Great group of guys, and very well-deserving. And it's hard not to feel happy for fans who've waited more than half a century for this feeling. But: What you're seeing below isn't an aberration, just a gaggle of thugs. It's very much the energy in NYC these days, a third world hellhole governed by a terrorist sympathizer grievance peddler who spent his entire career cheering on violent mobs and calling it "social justice." It's a city where it's totally normal for a Jewish woman to get violently attacked on the Subway just for being Jewish--it happened just the other week. It's a city where it's totally normal for crowds to march with the Hamas and Hezbollah flags, and where the mayor's own wife repeatedly celebrated October 7th. It's a city where every single public official running for office is running on promises to further curb the federal government's powers to arrest and deport violent illegal migrants. So when you're seeing these thugs trash a school bus, or set things on fire, or attack cops, it's not the exception. It's the rule, because these are the norms of the third world. And New York City these days is very much the third world. So I know the Knicks are everyone's teams. And if I squint my eyes just so, I can somehow ignore the fact that this victory also rewards the single worst owner in professional sports, and somehow obscures the fact that it was spectacularly poor management, plastered over with billions of dollars, that made the Knicks wither for five decades to begin with. But when I see images like this one, and think about Mamdani and Brad Lander and all the other America-hating, chaos-championing twits about to march in Thursday's parade and mark this championship as their victory, I get very depressed. So Mazal Tov to Brunson, OG and the rest of the actual champs. But so sorry, NYC: you're still a needle-infested playground where wealthy recreational Marxists encourage the poor to believe that only violence brings catharsis and justice, and then excuse the mayhem that follows by blaming it on someone else. Just like they do everywhere else in the third world.
