Agree with you on a lot Shooter but streaming is just a distribution medium and the one with the best chance to replicate an artist’s intention sonically (from a resolution standpoint at least). It’s the present and way forward for anyone wanting max exposure of their art. Pulling out only ensures more junk music gains ground and further clutters the space. I press vinyl for those that dig it like me on every release and have cd’s but the reality is most people don’t have a way to play either. We just need to figure out a way to make streaming pay better.

It’s a joke. The music business will stay in this “nobody’s making money on albums so you gotta tour non stop if you want to survive” until artists wake up to how they are stealing all of the revenue from us and pull out of streaming all together. This isn’t a “renegotiate through federal pressure” thing, this is a “this is toxic and it’s killing art” kind of situation.

After detoxing from most streaming TV services for a week then going back you really realize how much trash content you’re allowing into your brain even passively viewing. It’s insidious.

The thing about country music is that when written with respect and due reverence it can be an art form that rivals Steinbeck’s novels, Van Gogh’s paintings or Michelangelo’s sculptures. As an example, check out this opening verse from Merle Haggard’s “Mama’s Hungry Eyes”…

Been re-imagining some of my favorite songs and re-arranging them in minor keys…I love how the feeling of a lyric can change sung to a different melody and with different tonal color in the supporting chords. Here’s a bit of Amarillo By Morning…a major key song made famous by @GeorgeStrait moved to a minor key.
