To celebrate Volunteer’s Week, on this episode of Going the Extra Mile we speak to Elaine McBride, a dedicated Northern Ireland Hospice volunteer of nine years. Inspired by the vital respite care her son Sam receives, Elaine works to show that hospices are places of joy, light, and memory-making, rather than just end-of-life care. @NIHospice@CarolJordanTV

As I delve into adoption health for my Tenacious Journalist Award project, speaking to adoptees and writers raises other questions. @AmandaAuthorArt and I discussed adoptee depiction in literature - here's something I wrote from the @royallitfund archives: rlf.org.uk/posts/warp-and-we…
Thanks so much to all the adoptees who have responded so far - and everyone else who has shared this. The survey is open till Thursday 30th April at 5pm, so please share if you can! #adoption#healthequity#transracialadoption
Fellow adoptees, I need your help! I'm doing a journalism project on how the NHS treats adoptees, including a survey. It's anonymous and will take 5-15 minutes to do. More info in the survey. #adoption#adopteerights#adopteehealthforms.gle/xXeiGJ1fJcrZbjfu7
Important work from journalist @KatharineQ regarding advocacy for adoptees’ access to medical records. She’s launched a UK survey on adoptees’ health experiences to drive change. If you’re adopted, please take part:
