#OnThisDay back in 2002, Ricky Hatton climbed off the canvas in round 1 to win a close points decision against Eamonn Magee at a packed Manchester Arena. There were words between the pair before the fight, but the respect stayed long after and they became friends.

I was one of Noel’s 4 fans in the hall that night ❤️🥊
On this day in 1995, my dad went to the last chance saloon and took home the Commonwealth title. He faced undefeated champion Garry Delaney in his backyard and was a 10/1 underdog. He showed skill, heart and true grit that night and wouldn’t be denied. I couldn’t be more proud ❤️

I had some great nights at the Dockers club. Sad to see it closing 🥊
Sad news coming out today that the iconic Belfast Dockers Club will be closing after almost 50 years.
All the greats fought there. The low ceiling and intimate layout was perfect for boxing and made for a fantastic atmosphere. It will be really missed by the boxing community 🥊

Such sad news to hear that Paul McCullaugh Jr has passed away at the age of 25. Paul won Ulster Elite titles and represented Ireland as an amateur boxer. He also carried on that great family name as an undefeated professional. My thoughts are with his family and friends🙏❤️
