Aside from a dozen or so exceptions I’ve been walking at least 10,000 steps every day for the last few years. It’s a natural habit and something I enjoy. I’d feel more weird and out of sync if I had a day where I’m much less active.
It’s been beneficial for all four of those things. Fat burn, energy, sleep and mood. It’s a great form of active recovery too. Walking after meals is something everyone should do. It has major benefits for improving insulin sensitivity and mitigating blood sugar spikes, as well as aiding digestion and reducing bloat.
I’ve never had any injuries from walking outdoors or incline on the treadmill.
Gym goers who have tried walking 10,000 steps a day, has anyone actually stuck with it long term? Did you notice any real benefits in terms of weight loss, energy, sleep, or mood? Also, did you run into any issues like knee or hip pain from doing it daily?
