Earlier this year we @BRMCVic launched a new Regional Settlement Research Network to bring together academics, practitioners and policy makers across Australia. It was great to see the network flourishing at our 2nd meeting this week chaired by @mairead_parade@SCOA_Aus 1/2
We heard Khaled Ali’s lived experience as a refugee in Toowoomba & longitudinal research on community attitudes to refugees in Armidale by Sue Watt. I was happy to be able to attend while my partner looked after our newborn :) Looking forward to the next meeting! #aus#migration

We are so sad in Ballarat that A Pot of Courage is closing. The cafe provides employment opportunities for migrant & refugee women, space for community, & unique intercultural food. Long term sustainable funding & recognition of its unique training & mentoring capacity is needed
Ballarat cafe, A Pot of Courage has announced that it will be shutting down at the end of March. The cafe was launched 3 years ago to provide opportunities for migrant and refugee women however due to funding and staff shortages, it can no longer go on.
