Delivery of the Sulfuric Acid Plant Cold Interpass Heat Exchanger (CIP) and Hot Interpass Heat Exchanger (HIP) were successfully unloaded and placed on the foundations. The CIP and HIP are large gas-to-gas exchangers used to regulate temperatures inside the catalytic converter. They recover waste heat from the conversion process to reheat cooler gases, which minimizes external fuel consumption and maintains optimal reaction rates. $LAC #lithium #Nevada

A cable tray module is placed on top of the pipe rack module south of the Ion Exchange Building. Last week, crews safely installed six prefabricated modules, including three pipe rack modules fabricated offsite at Car-Wil and three cable tray modules assembled directly at Thacker Pass. Harder Mechanical sets the first pipe rack module in place at the Sulfuric Acid Plant. Modules are fabricated in Winnemucca, NV and will be delivered to site weekly from May through August. Off-site fabrication allows the modules to be constructed in a controlled environment, reducing labor hours and minimizing re-work. Construction at Thacker Pass is entering its peak activity between now and the end of 2026, marked by increased frequency of deliveries of large pieces of equipment. Between May and August, about 100 pipe rack modules will be transported from CarWil's manufacturing facility in Winnemucca to Thacker Pass, approximately 65 miles north. @nevadadot will post permitted shipment timeframes to NVRoads.com before each transportation date. @LithiumAmericas will also share shipment dates in our weekly community newsletter so northern Nevada residents can plan ahead.
