Firefighters do more than answer emergency calls. Last week, the South County Union Firefighters @IAFF1828 hosted an amazing afternoon at the Lynnwood Ice Center for the kids from the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club. With the help of members from the union's very own SnoHawks Hockey Team, the kids suited up with helmets and skates, receiving hands-on guidance to build their confidence on the ice. Once they got the hang of skating, the fun ramped up as they practiced their shots—aiming, shooting, and scoring just like real hockey players. A huge thank you to the union members and volunteers who made this special day possible!

Amped to join Fire Ops 101 training alongside Central Kitsap Fire Captain Alex McCracken 🚒🔥 I’m exhausted after carrying 50 pounds of gear thru the drills (ladder rescue and “fire attack” were my favorites) but big smiles learning from some great firefighters.

The 19-year-olds who attend my favorite university didn’t score enough touchdowns today so I’m in the basement, drinking until I fall asleep. My wife is crying, begging me to come upstairs & watch a Muppet Christmas Carol with my family. “I don’t care if I die tonight” I whisper.
