"It's too early to start a business."
"You've failed before; what makes you think you'll succeed now?".
These questions played over and over in my mind before launching Doctors and Writers.
I was all in on the idea and its potential to make a difference, but each time I got to work, I felt an overwhelming force of resistance.
But here's where things get interesting.
When I got on calls with friends and told them about the idea, they loved it. When I got on a call with
@adi_kumar1 to share what I had in mind, he loved it too.
I couldn't believe it.
All this time, I was the only person holding the project back.
So I knew I had to make some changes.
This time, whenever I felt that inner resistance creep in, I just kept saying to myself:
What's the worst that could happen?
Within a few weeks, we brainstormed the project, created the website, recorded our podcast, and finally launched D&W.
Yes, we've made mistakes and still have lots to learn.
But I wouldn't be writing this today unless we took a chance on that idea.
If you have an idea you're passionate about, focus on the possibilities instead of the limitations.
Give yourself one reason why it's a good idea instead of all the reasons it isn't.
Remember, self-doubt is always self-imposed.
Take the shot and remind yourself, what's the worst that could happen?
Back yourself, stick with it for long enough, and trust me, there's a good chance you'll surprise yourself and those around you.
