Its crazy how if youre gambling that busting is bad But if youre having sex busting is good And if youre a criminal or a ghost busting is bad But if youre a cop or a ghost hunter busting is good

Ocarina of Time releasing this year and FF7 following close behind means I might actually have the strength to wait for the PC port of GTA6.

These are a totally fine, even great starting point. People are being so weird about this. Yes, there are moments that are most rewarding for fans of the original, but these make sense on their own just fine.
As an outsider, I've never truly understood the appeal of Final Fantasy but I am very close to finally caving and checking out the FF7 Remakes. This is an almost irresistible deal.

yeah that’s like a daily saying between the wife and I
i like how for a certain set of millennial women ā€œgo piss girlā€ has become an automatic polite social response in the vein of saying ā€œbless youā€ but for peeing

Sorry that I’m hyperfixating on Zelda again, should only last until January or so.

Folks are dismissive about the storytelling in Zelda, but Ocarina really does tell a simple story incredibly well. The Deku Tree revealing the true nature of Link’s parentage after the Forest Temple is a terrific, heartbreaking moment. I wish the newer games had more of that.
Ocarina of Time has a story, Twilight Princess has a plot

seeing this a lot in discussions about 3D Zelda. That latter games like TP ā€œimproved the formulaā€ from Ocarina, by having more content or features. And I’m like: Yeah, but does it have a moment as haunting as when you leave the Temple of Time and see the state of Castle Town?
I think a big disconnect in games discourse is driven from the fact that games are this weird marriage of art and software… and in any gaming discussion, it feels like half of the audience is evaluating any given work as a piece of software, and not as art.

wife is watching that new horror movie Hokum and it seems fine but it keeps pissing me off in how much it seems to be ripping off Alan Wake

I don’t know if this is a hot take, but I like the N64 version better. The 3DS version being just a smidge brighter and higher-contrast fucks with the atmosphere.

This is also one of the ones I haven’t gotten to, should I grab it on the steam sale? It’s like $15.

The ā€œis Ocarina of Time an open-world gameā€ (obviously not) is one of the dumber gaming discourses I’ve seen in awhile.

Didn’t think I’d have to explain myself, but here it is: Ocarina of Time is a linear game with a hub world and the ability to backtrack to previous areas. That doesn’t make it an ā€œopen-world gameā€ which is a genre categorization as much as it is a description of the world design.

Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest works of the medium, a genuinely beautiful work of art. Twilight Princess, while a good game, is primarily a reheated version of OOT made for edgy 2000s hot topic kids who spent 3 years crying about cell-shading.
Why is Ocarina of Time considered the greatest game of all time when Twilight Princess is just better?
