We are so stoked to see the number of posters and presentations that we’d say sits within the realm of population health. @ryansmithdpt has listed them out below with a little video scroll in the APHPT workplace but we figured we’d share it here too! #APTACSM #pophealth

Todd rocks and was an inspiration for me in developing the NAU Hybrid program’s course on population health and wellness -capped by an immersive experience in the Flagstaff community. Action reflection = transformation!

Be like Todd. In seriousness, if you're in academia and looking to instill a pop health class please reach out. Our members are happy to support. Or ask Todd for his syllabus. Either way works for us!
Today in my physical therapy management of population health class, we get to talk about program design and evaluation. We're going to workshop their semester projects, in which they need to develop a community-facing program to improve a health outcome by addressing an inequity.

Our 1st Intro Course Cohort of the year begins Feb 26th! "Grateful patients are few in preventative medicine, where success is marked by a non-event." This course isn't about fixing people, it's about organizing systems to move populations' health in the right direction.

A lot of great suggestions of where PT's can go upstream in these replies. If you're uncertain we have enjoyed asking our members in regards to Pop Health "What population are you in? How are you helping the people in that population?" Start there -> solutions follow.
There are so many areas where physical therapists could improve patient care yet PT is not part of the care plan. Where are the biggest care gaps or opportunities for PTs to be involved in patients' care?

We couldn't agree more! If you hadn't considered what your PT degree can do in the realm of population health or prevention please consider so. Often we find the further upstream you get the more creative you can become with solutions and the various roles we as PT's can play!
Physical therapy is a better profession than the naysayers would have you believe. There is a LOT more options with what to do with the degree than the masses think. We need MORE people to share the variety of options they’ve been able find in their professional lives.
