Important announcement regarding KYC Prelude:
A number of users have messaged us regarding the data handling and security concerns associated with sharing their identity documentation as samples on KYC Prelude. Just to clarify a few pointers:
1) These samples will only be used for programming the rule design and facilitate AI training for KYC verification, and will be immediately deleted from the backend post-completion of the training;
2) Users are free to volunteer and share their documentation. If they believe it's too sensitive for them to share the documents at this stage and would like to await KYC, they're more than good enough not to partake in the KYC Prelude and can simply contribute by voting on the relevant proposals.
To clarify what KYC Prelude (not to be confused with actual KYC) is all about:
It's a dApp to understand the different types of documentation that are most preferred across different countries. For instance: It can be the driving license in a certain country and national identity card in another.
Through the KYC Prelude dApp, users can create and submit unique proposals pertaining to the documents that are recognized within their national jurisdiction. If a proposal mentioning a particular document has been posted, please don't submit a duplicate proposal.
The documentation receiving the highest number of votes will be taken into consideration for training the AI systems, which will be directly utilised for KYC verification. At the same time, if other proposals also receive a substantially higher number of votes, they'll also be considered.
NOTE: If you have inadvertently submitted an erroneous/inconsistent/blurred/inaccurate/censored documentation, we are working on a feature to allow the users to modify their submitted samples. You're requested to be patient.
Some users might struggle with submitting the samples on KYC Prelude. Always ensure to share screenshots with the moderators because screenshots allow us to identify the root cause of the error better.
