“My son's first grade teacher started her own "me too" movement. On the first day of class she had all of them stand and say what their favorite hobby is, or what their favorite toy is, or favorite food is etc... If you also like it you must say "me too" and go stand within that group. The children had so many things in common they were continuously shouting "ME TOO" and moving from group to group. The children instantly realized just how much they have in common with their class mates and that made them less anxious, more relaxed and comfortable, laughing and talking and quickly making friends. Good teachers make the world a better place.” Anonymous

The govt's Energy Bill is a missed opportunity to fix our unfair energy pricing system and get serious about saving energy. We're backing 3 #GreenNewDeal amendments from @labourlewis @CarolineLucas @NadiaWhittomeMP that would save households money and cut demand. Please share!⬇️ x.com/greennewdealgrp/status…

The UK company birth explosion taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2023… There are now more companies created a year in the UK than there are live births. That makes no sense at all unless tax abuse and fraud are taken into account.

Sadly, as every NHS frontline professional knows too well, a ‘bed’ is meaningless without the nurses & doctors to care for the patient. You’ve done nothing to expand or fund more staff. In fact, your actions drive us away. The NHS is short of 130k staff - & this pledge is empty.
We've just announced £250M to help treat patients more quickly this winter. ◉ Delivering 900 new beds ◉ Part of our drive to put in place 5,000 permanent extra beds This will support NHS staff to provide the best possible care and help improve waiting times for patients. 👇

Will Hutton has an article in The Observer this morning saying that Britain is bust. It isn’t. The UK has total wealth of more than £15 trillion. A short thread....

The UK only has 3.2 doctors per 1,000 people. The 2nd lowest in Europe and fewer than: 🇦🇹 Austria: 5.5 🇨🇿 Czech Republic: 4.1 🇩🇪 Germany: 4.5 🇮🇹 Italy: 4.1 🇱🇹 Lithuania: 4.5 🇪🇸 Spain: 4.6 We simply cannot afford to lose any more of them. They just want fair pay.

It’s in your power to change this. You could set up safe routes - like those for Ukrainians - you NEVER see them on small boats. You could re-open Afghan & Syrian routes. You choose not to. You choose danger for others.
My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the tragic loss of life in the Channel today. This morning I spoke with our Border Force teams who have been supporting the French authorities in response to this incident.

Seeking asylum is a fundamental human right for people fleeing violence, persecution or war. We have a duty to help refugees rebuild their lives. Wherever they come from. Whenever they are forced to flee.

I don't know your circumstances, but if you take a wander around a small bookshop, say how wonderful it is and bemoan the fact that there aren't very many, then... leave without buying anything? I never tire of hearing the shop praised (thank you🙏🏼) but it doesn't pay the bills.

The magic money tree is right there!!! Going to the big banks …
This is, I admit, a long thread. But it explains why the government is needlessly giving £18 billion or more a year to the biggest banks in the UK when it is claiming there is no money for essential services and pay rises. I also change. So that has to be worth a read......

Please screen-grab this tweet and keep it handy when food prices soar , water-wars break out , your house burns down , your business is washed away , polar bears are extinct or in a few years time when a desperate and angry young person asks you who was responsible for killing their world . . .
Today we are saying no to @JustStop_Oil and their political wing the Labour Party  We will power ahead with new oil and gas because it’s in the best interests of the British people, of our economy and of our national security
