READ: The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) released a statement today, June 14, reiterating their commitment to accountability and justice following the passing of Ateneo student-athletes Rene Clert Baterbonia and Divine Adili.
The association will fully evaluate all findings of the National Bureau of Investigation, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the Commission on Higher Education and urged all the parties to “conduct a speedy and thorough investigation.”
No concrete actions have been implemented yet as the UAAP is still closely following the developments, and will refer all relevant information to the seven other UAAP member schools once investigations are completed.
The association assures the public that they “remain committed to fostering a sporting environment grounded in safety, respect, and accountability” by enforcing necessary sanctions and reviewing existing systems.
