As a musician and retro console nerd, this is exactly the kind of weird crossover that gets my attention.
It’s a modular effects pedal that uses custom N64 style cartridges to change the sound. Different carts, different effects. Pretty fun and clever idea.

We’re starting with Theodore’s Doors, a new SNES cartridge sent to us by the creator himself. It started as an iOS puzzle game and now exists as an actual Super Nintendo cart.

Update: @modretro reached out and is sending a complimentary Charging Dock to recover the Power Core. They sent tracking within about 10 minutes of getting my address, so credit where it’s due. Once escalated, they moved fast and made it right.
Still worth knowing if you have a First Edition/GameStop Edition Chromatic: don’t leave a dead Power Core sitting in the unit for an extended period. It may not recover through that Chromatic.

Hey @modretro this feels like poor customer service.
I bought a rechargeable Power Core for my Chromatic, installed it, played for maybe 10 minutes, then set the handheld down for a few months like a normal person might.
Now the Power Core won’t charge.
Support says there’s a known issue where a dead Power Core left inside a First Edition Chromatic for several weeks can become unrecoverable when charging through that unit.
How was I supposed to know that after buying it?
If leaving the battery inside the device can brick it, that should have been clearly disclosed. The fix should not be “use another Chromatic” or wait for a Charging Dock I can buy later.
