I've been shouting about building a portfolio in public.
Then realized many graduates are completely stuck for misunderstanding my words here.
When I say build a portfolio, they think I mean
• A complex website
• A fully functional app
• A digital marketing agency
• A polished personal brand
No, I don't mean that.
A portfolio is simply proof of work.
For example
Day 1 in a data analytics course: "Here's what I've learned."
Day 2: "Here's a dashboard I built."
Assuming you're learning copywriting
Share a landing page, an email, or a social media post you've written.
You don't need to become an expert before you start showing evidence of skill.
Right now, if I applied to teach students at a company today, this page itself could serve as part of my portfolio.
Because it shows
• The posts I've written
• The products I've created
• The ideas I've shared
• The projects I've executed
That record of work becomes my portfolio.
In fact, this page has helped me apply for opportunities more than my own credentials.
Your portfolio is not a finished masterpiece.
It's your work in progress.
Document the journey.
