Been benchmarking RPCs for our $darkdrop relayer, went deep on both latency and data freshness. 50 measurements per method, p99 results. raw latency from asia (p99): @alchemy median 50ms vs @Helius median 300ms across all methods. alchemy p99 tops at 322ms, helius p99 hits 980ms on getLatestBlockhash. Then @mert pointed out somethings off, helius getSlot comes back 1-2 slots ahead consistently. faster response doesn't always mean fresher data. The thing is, getLatestBlockhash returns the same hash from both, so TX submission works fine on either. pick your RPC based on what matters for your use case. raw speed vs data freshness is a real tradeoff. ps these 2 providers work very hard to make sure they give you the lowest latency. i asked permission before i post screenshots btw.
