On January 30, 2025, at Bitcoin block height 881,506, Gamma received an inscription from an unidentified source reported only as “The Interstellar Authority”. Inscription #83943146 is admittedly disturbing—a ransom note and demand for 1 million sats for the safe return of @TheArtistBTC. Multiple attempts to get in touch with TheArtist have failed, and nobody has heard from him since. His wife indicated he did not return home for Taco Thursday. We will post the full demand message, inscribed alongside the image. — The full note reads: WE HAVE THEARTIST WE DEMAND 1 MILLION SATS FOR HIS RELEASE Demands To whom it may concern, We have taken TheArtist. He is currently aboard our vessel, undergoing observation. His continued existence in your world is now a matter of negotiation. The terms are simple: transfer 1,000,000 sats in total. The payment structure is divided into 1,000 editions, each priced at 1,000 sats. Every edition claimed brings him one step closer to release. Failure to meet these demands will result in permanent relocation. His presence will be removed from your reality, preserved only as a digital artifact—if at all. You have been warned. The Interstellar Authority — Gamma’s leadership team has been long aware, and concerned, with TheArtist’s conduct with respect to alien life forms. He was last seen at 4:52am ET, likely somewhere in the northern hemisphere. He posted a now viral tweet with a concerning photo from deep in the woods, including text reading “PARANOID”. We do not know the meaning of this image, but wanted to include it in case it helps investigators determine his interstellar location.
