Front Pocket Drill: The Front Pocket Drill is an excellent drill for athletes that 1) struggle to fully rotate, 2) get the bat head out front on inside pitches, or 3) get around/hook balls. @hossjobhitting

Set-up is very simple, place the tee even with your front hip pocket. If you’re working on full rotation or you have trouble getting the bat head out on inside pitches, think about hitting the ball into the pull side dugout.

If you struggle with hooking the ball or getting around the ball, work the hands up the middle and try to hit the ball in fair territory.

The back knee foreshadows bat path. If the back knee extends or pushes the back hip will follow and the front side of the upper body will have to lead the swing, creating inefficient bat path and poor barrel direction. @hossjobhitting

The back knee should work in an arc, down and in. Some hitters (think Aaron Judge) will seem to lead pelvic rotation with this knee movement (internal rotation).

Other hitters will seem to pull the knee down and in with the pelvis (think Mookie Betts). Either way, knee bath is often indicative of barrel path. Fix the lower body, fix the upper body!

Griffin’s trust, hard work, and continuous communication led to vast improvements in rotational capacity, mobility, bat speed, & exit velocity. More importantly, Griffin made the changes in his swing to improve his adjustability, barrel accuracy, and barrel direction.
