A shoutout to Thapelo Mokoena. He's been holding it down all season, and bringing the right energy to every episode. He’s done an incredible job as the face of #TIA2026.
A really good point being highlighted tonight is that financial inclusion is important- but the FSCA is in place to make sure that even the most vulnerable customers are looked after and not exploited by insurers looking after this market #tia2026
Watched Jordan show up challenge after challenge and give his best, that’s what I think we’ll all remember about him and he can be proud of his journey #TIA2026

I'm a customer asking you about medical insurance or gap cover and the person selling doesn't have that product or has a competitors product cause it's cheaper or allows for students or people in that salary bracket. How crazy is that.
Also people selling insurance also don't have insurance themselves and the companies don't give them the product as a company benefit so most of the people don't believe in what they selling and it shows.
“Death is guaranteed” , yet we still take more funeral policies than life cover policies @OfficialRudyLJ brought to light some interesting perspective that deserves further thinking into ✅
We bury more people than we buy homes so the latter becomes inconsequential.
More often than not, the people we bury didn't make provision for themselves so we're lessening the burden on ourselves.
Agreed. Historical & cultural weight behd fneral cver is undeniable. Perhaps cnversation isn’t abt choosing 1 over the other, bt recognising tht loss wears many faces, 😞, 💸 & practical. Losing a 🏠, 🚘 or livelihood carries its own impact on dignity and stability too. #TIA2026
Why do South Africans buy so much funeral insurance, and the same attitude doesn’t translate to buying insurance for their homes, cars, and valued assets? Let me hear your thoughts

A good point made by Simon that was missed by both groups- the truth is funeral insurance is cheaper/more affordable. But I still think it’s deeper than that- we spend money (especially in Cyril’s economy) on where we place the most value. And insurance doesnt always make the cut
Funeral insurance is cultural, emotional and immediate, it protects dignity and family responsibility. Asset insurance often feels distant or optional… until disaster makes it personal. Maybe the mindset needs to shift from burial protection to legacy protection. #TIA2026
