Imagine, at that time I was feeling defeated and didn’t believe that my work was having any impact or even mattered.

Here is a glimpse into the @unboundedu Leadership Institute. Superintendents were given a CTA: walk with a purpose, [really] know the standards, and what to look for. A lesson on how to inspect what you expect.

I am blown away by the 3 days of intensive learning and planning that district leaders engaged in at the @unboundedu Leadership Institute. They did the work that is required to be effective instructional leaders and dug deep in addressing the challenges school leaders face.

This results in empathy, compassion, and a true understanding from the ground level of what is required for school leaders to transform education. It requires time, professional development, ongoing support, and collaboration, and having a clear mission.

I just really wish that people in positions of service remember that one day the tables will turn and if you are ever hospitalized or your health is compromised, you would want someone to treat you with compassion as every patient deserves.

Some folks are in my mentions saying they don’t care what color their doctor is and all they want is a qualified doctor. BUT, the data shows for Black patients, the race of our health professionals does INDEED make a difference in the care we receive. Sad, but reality. THREAD.
The Supreme Court's decision to strike down affirmative action, including in professional schools, like medical and nursing, will have detrimental consequences on Black health for generations to come. This is about life & death for us. Today, we are only 5% of physicians.

Especially when so many of NYC schools are not retrofitted with HVAC systems to clean the air.
I don’t really understand why NYC schools weren’t remote today when there’s an quality advisory in effect. While parents have the right to keep their children home, school staff still had to report to the buildings, compromising their respiratory health. Make it make sense…
