While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.

MTG’s IP doesn’t have the mainstream power that Pokémon or Yugioh have, and while I’d have been fine with things staying the same forever, that isn’t fair to the future generations who need the game to thrive so they can discover it too. 🧵

Both Pokémon and Yugioh have pronounced and powerful IPs that transcend their respective card games. When you think about it, MTG is the only one of the three that could do what it’s doing, truly something neither other juggernaut could, or even would, attempt. 🧵

If I was in a boardroom or a design meeting, and I was trying to think of fundamental ways to separate MTG from the other pillars of TCGs, ability to incorporate other IPs would be near the top of the list, whether I liked it or not. 🧵

I see the Universes Beyond era as Magic’s sequel of sorts. I will remember “classic” MTG for everything wonderful that it has been and continues to be.
Games grow and adapt to new markets. No other “big 3” card game could do what MTG is doing. 🧵

When life overwhelms me I have a tendency to disappear.
I waited so long to come back bc I didn't want to do exactly what I did and leave suddenly.
I don't feel comfortable sharing a lot, but I had to pause everything to take care of a family member full time.
Miss you all.

My family member is doing amazingly well all things considered. Assisting them will be my full time job for the foreseeable future.
I will try to be more communicative about when content will resume, but I am in my current situation for the "long haul".
