Reclaiming my Innocence Minutes ago, I restored my X bio to what had been there for the longest time. It’s sad to say, but the pragmatism of life had robbed me of my naivety and innocence. “A man at the source of the Nile dedicated to inspiring the continent to greatness.” No statement better encapsulates my life than that. It captures the 19-year-old who chose to drop out of university. It captures the man who walks away from well-paying jobs. It captures a man who seeks knowledge beyond the confines of profession. To many he’s an unfocused man; to a few, a seeker; and to me, a man in search of the way to greatness. An identity well captured in the name, @TheMutambuze. As a young man, I set off on a quest to discover the path to greatness. As one can imagine, a road less travelled is a lonely and treacherous one. A path marked by self-doubt and fear, but paved with courage and faith. Behind every decision is a refusal to settle for normalcy. A refusal to follow the template that was defined. Not out of rebellion or hubris, but out of the simple idea to not blindly follow, but rather to find the roots of things on which to build my life. I don’t have a global cause. I have a continental cause. It’s the simple conviction that whatever anyone else in the world can do, Africans can also do. As a matter of fact, if anyone has a reason to boast, it should be the African, because science testifies to him being the origin of the human species. If you read this far, then perhaps you’re a kindred spirit. For anyone sharing this dream, I’ll leave you with a quote from Steve Jobs: “Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you.” Be blessed.

My son, if a delayed salary makes you lose sleep, it exposes a dangerous reality. You are either earning too little to build a safety net, or spending too much to keep one. True wealth isn't just a high income. It is having enough margin to wait without panic. Be blessed.

My son, a 50x100 plot of land will not make you wealthy. It only parks the wealth you already created. If you want to truly multiply your income, spend your first money on your skills, your tools, and your network. Invest in the man before you invest in the soil. Be blessed.

My favorite @elonmusk quote that I often send friends: Do not fear losing. “You will lose,” Musk says. “It will hurt the first fifty times. When you get used to losing, you will play each game with less emotion.” You will be more fearless, take more risks.

My son, buying a 50x100 plot before a car doesn't always make someone a financial genius. When you come from a family with no land to its name, a permanent address isn't an investment, it's survival. Be blessed.

Knowing a great deal is not the same as being smart; intelligence is not information alone but also judgement, the manner in which information is coordinated and used.

My son, if you do not dream, you will remain average. Greatness is a pursuit and not a given. Average people have average dreams. Be blessed.
