Getting out of the way of a speeding lane splitter. Tesla FSD sees 360°

Three bad flaggers in one afternoon! Two required FSD disengagements. The third was an accelerator intervention. All in FSD v14.3.3.

Bad flagger #3? @Tesla_AI The lane was open with two way traffic. But a stop sign was on a barrel facing our way, on the other side of the road. FSD saw it at 9 seconds in the video and started braking. I tapped the accelerator at 16 seconds but did not disengage FSD.

Bad flagger #2 @Tesla_AI One lane road with a flagger. Flagger holding a sign saying "Slow". But there was oncoming traffic! FSD was continuing so I disengaged. Note, there was no flagger on the other side of the blocked lane.

Bad flagger (FSD 14.3.3) @Tesla_AI FSD camera snapshots don't provide a full picture of this interaction. I tried to piece it together from what I have. Here are the recordings: 1) The car approaches intersection in FSD, front camera. 2) The car approaches intersection, right pillar camera. 3) Photo showing flagger in right pillar camera. 4) Photo showing flagger in front camera. (part 1 of 2)

(part 2 of 2) 5) Zoomed video of flagger from right pillar camera 6) Zoomed video of flagger from front camera 7) USB drive video of front camera 8) USB drive video of right pillar camera Did the flagger signal me to stop? Hmm... FSD apparently saw the flagger signal the oncoming truck and mistakenly thought the signal was for us. FSD attempted to proceed in front of the oncoming truck, so I disengaged. @Tesla_FSD

FSD v14.3.3 versus pothole (at 6 seconds in the video) Spoiler alert: The pothole won.

In our second day with FSD v14.3.3, we were amazed. Everything was so smooth, so natural. No issues. And then this happened.

We were exiting from Smithgall Woods State Park on the way to Helen, GA. The navigation route was to turn right and proceed on GA 75A S. But FSD abruptly turned off onto Duke's Hollow Road, a gated limited access road for cottage guests. Crazy. That's not the way to Helen! Here's a longer video of the Tesla screen showing the incident in context. (After waiting for a pickup truck to pass, I manually backed out and returned to GA 75A S and turned FSD back on to reach the destination in Helen.

@Tesla_AI For your consideration.

My first day with FSD v14.3.3. Here's my only intervention (not a disengagement.) Navigation called for a u-turn. At 0:11 in the videos, FSD approaches the turn. As the last oncoming car passes (0:16 ), FSD hesitated unnecessarily. I presume it was because of the car waiting patiently for us to proceed. I wanted to proceed, so I pressed the accelerator at 0:17. FSD took the hint without breaking my FSD streak. Silly, I know. I hope @Tesla_AI noticed. Here are the front, right, and left cameras.

Here's the left hand turn I have to make leaving my subdivision onto a state highway. The only efficient way to get out is to pull into the hash-painted area (not a lane) and wait for a helpful soul to let me in. I disengage to drive this manually since I have no confidence that FSD will handle it. I make my move at 15 seconds into the video. Front camera, left camera, right camera. @Tesla_AI please address this situation in FSD.

Yesterday on several occasions I experienced sharp braking during heavy rain, with a warning beep and a message saying "Maximum speed limited – Poor road conditions detected." Here are two examples. First, reducing speed from 73 to 69. The second reduced it from 69 to 64. Both were abrupt, which seems like a very bad idea at highway speeds during poor visibility. Shouldn't FSD be doing this more gradually and with some advance warning? @Tesla_AI
