FOV isn't going to onboard the next million VR users. Content will. Meta brought their Boba 3 to SIGGRAPH (FOV ~180 vs Quest 3 ~109). Its just a prototype, and it matters less than people think. VR never had an immersion problem - people fell in love back in the DK1 era. Form factor improvements help adoption, like the shift from PCVR to wireless inside out tracking (and a 80% cost reduction) was meaningful. What really matters: - In headset exclusive content, mostly games - strong retention loops social - shorts/tiktok distribution The next wave of users will buy a headset after watching VR content on Youtube, not after reading a hardware spec sheet. h/t @Heaney555 for the photo

To my lovely developers friends πŸ€— YouTubers want to share your games with their audience, but if you are using other peoples musical creations without permission, please share the music isn’t yours to use. I pay to use copyright free music monthly & can easily add something just good myself (probably better) to your game trailer or game. That way all the information is shared and the epicness remains without videos getting blocked or demonetised βœ…

What you are insinuating is outright false. We do not accept payment for our reporting. The closest thing is sponsored posts, but these are clearly marked as "Sponsored Post", with a completely different accent color to regular articles (ie. it's 100% obvious what they are) and done once or twice per month. They're also handled by completely different people than editorial (ie. not us people who write regular articles). The reality is that VR outlets are absolutely tiny teams covering an incredibly rapidly moving industry. The ratio of news to writers is enormous. I can assure you, it pains us to not be able to cover everything interesting happening in VR. We truly wish we could! Summer is also a bad time, as people tend to be off. We had multiple weeks with only 1 writer on staff. As for your specific story, I don't see it in my inbox or our tips inbox, based on a cursory search. Can you let me know where you sent it to? It does sound like something we would want to cover!

I hate what VR news outlets are and nobody's talking about it in our industry. Sure sometimes they report on something cool like a new game. But VR news outlets are now just advertising platforms for anybody to pay enough money for their VR thing to get promoted. We hosted the biggest VR esports convention since Oculuse Connect 5, not a single VR news media outlet reported on it. We sent multiple press releases with links and the article already written for them. Nothing. We also never payed them for an article. I understand the model but I figured somewhere in these outlets, at least for a few articles a year, there would be actual journalism and reporting.
