Congratulations to Mercedes, a remarkable member of our Play Course Community!
An expat in Saudi Arabia, now an actor and producer: Mercedes Cardella has stories to tell. With a curriculum and arts degree under her belt, she published a book – but Mercedes was not always in touch with her creative side. This is her journey. ⭐️🎬 buff.ly/3d2oa6P

I’m thinking lots of #dungeonsanddragons would get us thru our home-time! Great narrative, character, prediction, creative & critical thinking and study of cooperation and competition. A great master like @BlackDragonCan could offer the whole school curriculum packaged in fun!

This week, the Games and Play class developed game prototypes. Game design is a powerful assessment tool that can be used for any subject and and age group. Thanks to @CrowellInteract for leading the charge. #designthinking
Game designer extraordinaire @CrowellInteract led the Games and Play class in designing prototypes. Game design is ideal for collaboration, critical thinking, design thinking, systems thinking, and processing source material. @OISEUofT @CTLOISE #gamedesign

We played the Fish Harvest game in this great book at the beginning of term, and I STILL can’t stop thinking about how competition interfered with our success of a sustainable fish population. We found the key then failed in year 9. Fear-based emotions prevailed.
