The BEST thing - even better than the books - has been the look of pure joy on the face of every Mystery Reader as they see the children appear in the meeting.

The Reading Room is back.
There's a little voice telling me that adding the whole school to one room could be a terrible idea, but I'm not listening to it. There are probably two weeks left of this online life. Now's the time to give things a go.

Took a basket of books out at lunchtime & ks1 did brilliant things:
-Lots of reading (obvs)
-Sharing books
-Running around with books
-Setting up a Library & charging me a pound before they would use their scanner to let me have my own book!

A room full of books, open all day (especially lunchtimes) for children to visit, looked after by somebody who is passionate about books - that's a school library.
A room full of books, open in lesson times for classes to exchange books - that's a large cupboard.

A1 A library with NO barriers to reading. No timetable, no need to sign books out (I’d rather they were just taken rather than having to wait for an adult to authorise), open at break, lunch, before and after school - and in a public space not a room. #PrimaryRocks
