4 people are in there with hopes, dreams, risk and the unknown. It makes me breathless, knowing how they're feeling and what they're facing. So exciting to see what we're capable of when we work together in common purpose, deciding to push back the edges of our collective ignorance. Have a great voyage, crew of @NASAArtemis!

Name calling from a draft dodger doesn't bother me. What bothers me is a clueless commander in chief who took our country to war without a strategy because no one around him has the guts to tell him when he's wrong.
Trump: "Mark Kelly is not a smart man. He's terrible. What he said is terrible about leadership. Leadership. Follow him. You follow him into a grave. He's terrible. He's a pathetic guy. But they're pathetic."

Also, hi 👋, former EMILY's List Comms & Research Chief here - everyone's entitled to their opinions re questionnaires, but going after EL in that context tells me you don't know squat about the EL one - which means you haven't done much for women in politics.

Attacking someone for working to elect women is a real vibe.

The Sharia Free America Caucus is doing such a great job for American families. You can *feel* the groceries getting more affordable without so much Sharia law holding them back.
🚨 REP. CHIP ROY JUST SAID IT WITHOUT APOLOGY! "Sharia is inconsistent with Western civilization. Sharia is inconsistent with the constitution of the United States, the declaration and the rule of law in our country. That is why we've been putting forward legislation." "We're not going to let Dallas or Houston or any other city in this great country become what has happened to London and to Paris." "We are going to fight for this country. And that's what I'm proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with these great men and women to say that we're going to do." Repel Islam from the West!

I'm a former defense attorney and currently a civil liberties attorney with no political dog in this fight. I watched the video at least 10 times from different angles and at different speeds and waited to offer an opinion, which I still reserve the right to change if additional information changes the calculus. It is very clear that the officers instigated the confrontation. The woman initially tried to wave them past her. ICE officers have no authority to search a US citizen or arrest her (unless there's probable cause to believe she's harboring undocumented individuals, not a contention here). A woman surrounded by masked, armed men who have no law enforcement authority over her has every right to try to escape. Video shows her steering wheel is turned to the right, clearly an attempt to leave WITHOUT hitting anyone and steer clear of the officer standing towards the front of her car. That officer had time to step to the side, which is where he was when he shot her. Even a real police officer would not have the right to shoot at her for trying to flee. This is well-established in the case law; deadly force may not be used simply to prevent someone from getting away. Given that the ICE officers had no law enforcement authority to begin with, AND the video footage shows she was trying to escape a perceived threat, not to kill anyone, the crime is all the more inexcusable. I'm praying for the victim's family, especially her children. I'm also praying for all the conservatives who are so unprincipled and lost they're excusing this terrible crime, and gloating over a death that will leave three young children motherless, because of the victim's politics.

To all of the MAGA Republicans and ICE defenders who are claiming that this woman in Minneapolis, Minnesota, tried to run ICE officers over with her car before they shot and killed her, here is the actual video. As you can clearly see, there are three ICE officers to the side of her car, and she slowly pulls away as they shoot her in the face. This is Trump‘s America.

Over twenty-five years in the U.S. Navy, thirty-nine combat missions, and four missions to space, I risked my life for this country and to defend our Constitution – including the First Amendment rights of every American to speak out. I never expected that the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense would attack me for doing exactly that. My rank and retirement are things that I earned through my service and sacrifice for this country. I got shot at. I missed holidays and birthdays. I commanded a space shuttle mission while my wife Gabby recovered from a gunshot wound to the head– all while proudly wearing the American flag on my shoulder. Generations of servicemembers have made these same patriotic sacrifices for this country, earning the respect, appreciation, and rank they deserve. Pete Hegseth wants to send the message to every single retired servicemember that if they say something he or Donald Trump doesn’t like, they will come after them the same way. It’s outrageous and it is wrong. There is nothing more un-American than that. If Pete Hegseth, the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in our country’s history, thinks he can intimidate me with a censure or threats to demote me or prosecute me, he still doesn’t get it. I will fight this with everything I’ve got — not for myself, but to send a message back that Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump don’t get to decide what Americans in this country get to say about their government.

Attacking an American hero to distract from illegally starting a war is a real New Year's vibe
BREAKING: Pete Hegseth just moved to censure Sen Mark Kelly and review his retirement rank and pay over what he says is a 'seditious video'. The video, found below, is simply Mark Kelly stating what the law is. This will start the demotion process of Mark Kelly, a decorated naval captain and astronaut, who simply stated the law.

When a flunky takes on a hero:
When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents. In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much. Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death. If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.
