In 2009 I published a Twitter guide that helped 100s of public sector bodies launch their official accounts. In 2024 my [personal] advice is: LEAVE X asap in anti-racist solidarity. Close your accounts in unison. Make your reasons known in no uncertain terms.

Today, I finally removed my last Ring security device and cancelled the monthly subscription! Eufy all the way from now on. Great kit (much better resolution than Ring)! Annoyingly, some software functionality is missing but nothing critical!

So I'm gradually migrating my home security system away from @ring over to @EufyOfficial. The eufy hardware is excellent, but their software is really lacking some basic features.

Like, if you only want your camera motion lights to come on at night, you have to set a custom schedule! And to top it off, that schedule doesn't include sunset or sunrise, even though they have your geolocation! So you are required to update the schedule every couple of weeks 😑
