Over the past few months I've basically stopped doing PvP. Mostly because of lack of interest, but also because I've been working on another project: Pokémon Unity, a Pokémon fangame created by me. If you've got the time, I'd appreciate a play.🙂

Despite the largest moveset update ever, the GBL leaderboards have been trending downwards, ending at the lowest ever since adding legend.
S18: Max 3733 Min 3342
S19: Max 3672 Min 3324
S20: Max 3622 Min 3275
Did a lot of players leave last season, or is GBL no longer growing?

Question: What drives you to keep playing PvP? Is it new cups, new Pokémon, going to regionals? For me, there hasn't been anything interesting recently. Everything is similar and boring, including the last move update, and PvP just doesn't feel fun anymore. What needs to change?

Worlds run cut a bit short. Tried to make a runback with a v2 of my last worlds team but couldn't quite do it. I'm still glad I went though, worlds is a great experience. Good luck to everyone else competing!

Third times... not the charm.
Feels bad going 3x 1-3 in grand finals, but I'll still take another second place.
I'm also now at 497/500 for worlds. Not quite there, but I'll get there soon enough.

Feels like a smaller update, but still some big changes. Lots of Master Premier buffs so hopefully its not a tiny meta anymore.
Also don't sleep on Furfrou... maybe

Reality check: Pokémon Go Pvp is stale.
The gameplay hasn't changed since launch. Many other games (Pokémon included) introduce new mechanics to keep it interesting. I would love to see new things, especially since P!P exists, because it will be tough for pvp to grow without it.

I also think changing the GBL battle cap would be beneficial. Having a higher number of battles would make it easier for new players and those who aren't involved in the community. An easy way to do this is having the first 5 sets have any rewards, then the rest are to rank up.

Top 12 at Portland. Cut a bit short, but I'm still happy to technically get to day 2. Also could have spent a bit more time building a slightly more balanced team 😅.
